tonight

Tonight Brian and I took advantage of the kids being out of the house and went to explore a new mall in town. We really aren't mall people...well we go eat at the mall, but that is usually it. It is always interesting to see what stores they have in the malls here. In this mall they had an Addidas store, a Nike store, and a Converse store all right next to each other. All of them completely overpriced. They had the normal Turkish stores as well. We did see a bathing suit shop which I found to be kinda funny. I can't imagine that they would do any business in the winter, but they didn't ask me.

They also had a Popeyes. We got jambalaya and chicken and then shared. Brian said it was the best jambalaya he had ever eaten in Turkey. Maybe because it is the only jambalaya he has ever eaten here! It was eh...ok. I did stop at the cup-o-corn stand though...of course! This time I got salt and butter WITH bbq sauce. It was yummy! I should have just eaten that. Next time I'm trying the Parmesan.

Oh...and Brian is laughing in this picture because the workers at the Popeyes were laughing at us taking a picture of our food. Evidently they haven't heard of me! I love food pictures!

I am starting to think Brian is s hot and spicy kind of guy! Does he order the Spicy chicken combo from Wendy's?

I cup-o-corn would be dangerous for me... I love corn on the cob.

Give them time to discover your writing talents and your blog.. you will be famous in Turkey.

mike - hmmmm...i didn't notice the onion rings. i wonder if they had them. they didn't have the popcorn shrimp which is what i really wanted, but oh well. we asked for it and the guy said, "this is a chicken place." ok...i'll have chicken then.

loving the page layout!!!

Popeyes is one of my secret weaknesses and I could live anywhere on the planet as long as I could get me some fried chicken.

How you been, stranger? ;)

That looks like a plate of beans!

Where's the fried chicken? Where be the biscuits? The french fries? How am I to clog an artery by proxy w/out the good eats?

wishful - thanks on the new look comments. it is so much better than the plain old white i had before. and yes...popeyes. we already had a kfc in town so this is like kfc with a kick! i've been good. lurking...like always!

heyjoe - it was rice and chicken. we did have fried chicken and french fries but they weren't anything special to look at. there is a biscuit on top of the jambalaya. we were wanting some good cajun food! it was alright. nothing to clog an artery over though for sure!

I can't believe I'm the first to comment on the absence of the mustache! Has it been missing in other pictures and I just didn't notice or is this a new development?

I can't do jumbalaya...beans & rice alone give me..well..'you know'...jumbalaya would probably not like me either. So sorry to say but Popeye's would not be my favorite chicken place. =( But I CAN eat the corn..unlike my sister...but we won't go there either. ;-)

derya - well it isn't america for sure! if it had been there would have been shrimp. i'm still crying over that! but there was also a kayseri mutfagi and i saw mucver on their salad bar. i was wishing i ate that instead!

sharon - it is a new development. thank goodness! he looks so much cleaner!

gina - well...next door to the popeyes was a burger king...or there was always the turkish option!

I personally enjoyed every crumb of the Popeye's chicken I bought last Saturday...and the chicken I bought to bring home for supper...and for lunch on Monday...and the biscuit worked, too! Popeye's has come to me, and I am happy!

ms. morton - well...i'm sure it is good. nothing was tasting great to me so i'm sure my taste buds were just off. oh...but the biscuit was good!

Guess I'll have to stick with KFC for now....sorry guys!! And if given those choices in the mall, I would probably go with the Turkish one!!
