I am mom.

Today I once again proved why I should win the mother of the year award. I mean I am such a good mom. Especially when it comes to wholesome, nutritious meals for my kids.

Breakfast: whatever they managed to find in the empty cabinets and refrigerator at whatever time they felt like eating. I have no idea who ate what or when they ate it.

Lunch: at 2pm when they came in and asked what we were having. My answer. Ice Cream. Seriously. We all had ice cream for lunch. And it was my idea.

Dinner: I am trying to redeem myself by serving something. We are having sandwiches, but they will be on Turkish bread. With deli meat, cheeses, and veggies. What? Did you think I was going to cook something? Silly, silly bloggity friends.

LOL

I knew better than to imagine you cooking... .NOT that you CAN'T... just that you prefer not to...

How many times in the past 5 months have I asked you, "What are you all having for dinner?"

To which you reply, "I don't know!"

I am cracking up! At least you admit it and YES you would be voted Mom of the year... for the "ice cream for lunch."

Umm, I want to come to your hosue for lunch! YUM!! (And, while you're on the 'confessional' type entry, I have to say that I've had ice cream 2 times today. And it's only 6:41 pm.) :-)

Sounds like our day! Breakfast is usually whatever they can dig up since I don't eat it myself:) We had Chick Fil A for lunch and Paul came home after work and took us out to dinner! What a great day for the family cook!

charlie girl - well it is way too hot to be heating up the kitchen. of course i can find an excuse anytime, but that was the one we used yesterday. it totally worked!

brittany - you are a true foodie. i should have tried mango smoothies. that would have worked too. of course that would have necessitated a trip to the grocery store and well...that would have been asking too much!

sarah - come on over. and...um...can you pick up some ice cream on your way? we seemed to have eaten all ours, and i have some serious sitting around to do so i can't trouble myself with going to the store to get more. thanks.

over-thinker - i know. they so owe me!

cheri - that is my kind of cooking. kitchen stays mostly clean, and i stay mostly out of it!

There's a joke about a man that when asked by his wife about what to have for dinner always said "Whatever", "I Don't Care", "Whatever You Want". So she made up frozen dinners and put them in the freezer. Next time she asked him and he responded that way, she pulled out dinners from the freezer that she had labeled "Whatever", etc.!! Made it so much easier for her....

gina - that would totally work in my house too. i am the one who usually doesn't care so much what we eat. and with the heat and no a/c except in the living room i hate heating up the kitchen cooking in the summer!

#2 - i loved that lunch idea. nice and cool!

You've just described how we eat here at our house in the summer.
