April

I just found out that April is National Poetry Month. What? I almost missed it! In honor of April and poetry I will write a little something for you. Because how can I not?

How do I begin to share my April?

April was rain
both from the skies
and from my eyes.

April was pain
a grandmother dies
a new baby cries.

April was strain
deep meaning sighs
and friendship tries

April was really long.

Ok...so I am not a poet. But I meant every word I said. I'll try to come up with something a little more poetic tomorrow.

Don't underestimate
Your power to stimulate
Because you're articulate
Your poems I appreciate.

Or something like that.
I actually like your April poem. April showers bring May flowers...and Weeping endures for the night, but joy comes in the morning. That's what I thought of when I read your poem.

In honor of poetry month, you should reprint this one: http://dixonsturkey.blogspot.com/2007/03/writing.html. I really liked it. And wasn't there also one about your grandparents or cousins and the farm?

I think you do very well with poetry!

Everyone is a poet! Or is the quote...' every child is an artist'? P.S. I'd like a slice of that pizza, but I just saw you're in Turkey, so I'll take it to go!

Seems a few of us had bumpy Aprils, some much worse than others. This little gem expresses my feelings about the past month perfectly!!!

If April showers bring May flowers...what do May flowers bring??? Why pilgrims, of course!!
