Friends
I just had to pop in and let everyone know that I did let the girl from 9th grade know about my blog post. I debated it and decided that I would love to know if someone had a memory of me...good or bad. It was 25 years ago after all. Today I got a response from the girl. She said she does remember me. She apologized for being mean...and really I don't think it was mean at all. She talked about the insecurities we all had in high school. It was a very nice note. Very sweet. At the end she said she was glad I asked her to be my friend. That made me smile.

I'm glad, too. I think most of us wish we were a little less self-centered when we were in school, but it's the nature of the teen.
What a nice ending to that story!
Awww.......sweet! It's amazing the things that we deal with in middle and high school. Insecurities abound, but we don't realize that others have the same problems until we are older.
I didn't know that you lived north of Houston! I grew up in the North Houston area.....near Katy. The area has grown soooooo much that I amazed each time I visit Houston. New schools are popping up everywhere in that area.
Yay! That's a day brightener!
That's really sweet. It's nice to know even years later these things can still be mended.
mamadallama - it's true. i think most kids are pretty self-centered. at least most of us outgrow it!
