Colors

I was adding some pictures to my computer when I stumbled across these. I took these pictures in May when the first fruits of our garden were starting to make themselves known. The vibrant colors make my heart ache.

Yellow squash

A baby watermelon

A perfect little cucumber.

Ah...the sweet smell of home grown tomatoes!

And for the flower lovers out there I'll include this one.

I am a mixed medium gardener. Flowers mixed with veggies, mixed with shrubs, mixed with annuals, mixed with roses, mixed with...well you get the idea.

So, how does your garden look in August? Have you had some yummy meals, have you canned, pickled, frozen any of your produce? I guess I won't need to bring you any CA tomatoes :-)

I LOVE the smell of tomato plants. We've got 10 plants and they're all just turning red this week (our planting season sucks in Northern Indiana). Every morning, I grab a few cherry tomatoes to snack on while I drive to work. mmmmmmmmm
